About Us
The Westernport Angling Club was founded in 1974 and since inception has been a club dedicated to serving it's members and the community. The club is family orientated with an emphasis on junior and family participation. The majority of social events organized thought the year, are family based.
The angling club has, in the past and will continue in the future, to campaign for better facilities for all anglers, to look after conservation issues that effect the bays and our waterways and strives for and to keep up the community spirit that makes the club an important and significant member of the Mornington Peninsula community.
Our monthly meetings take place at the angling club on the third Wednesday of each month, located next to the Hastings boat ramp. The meetings commence at 8 p.m. and usually finish at 10 p.m. Coffee, tea and a light supper is available and the bar opens at 7.30 p.m.
Meetings usually include a guest speaker or workshops on fishing techniques, locations etc, new tackle or other fishing related topics.
The Club Weigh Master arranges competitions through out the year, with local events almost every weekend during peak times. Other competitions take us to many locations including Westernport Bay, Port Philip Bay, Port Welshpool, San Remo, Bemm River, Yarrawonga, the Gippsland Lakes and rivers, and many other interesting fishing locations.
The club is affiliated with the Australian Anglers Association, the Australian National Sports fishing Association, the International Game Fishing Association and the Game Fishing Associations of Victoria and Australia .
Visitors are always welcome.
